What if everything we’ve been taught about God is wrong?
Well, maybe, not Everything. But what if Any of it is wrong?
What if the whole dying and going to Heaven paradigm has it completely
upside down?
Maybe it deserves a second look because when the disciples came to Jesus and asked how they should pray, Jesus never said, “Help us to escape Earth,” Instead, He said: Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” Think about that for a moment; Could it just be that the focus is not on us going to Heaven, but rather on us bringing Heaven to Earth. Right here, right now.
What If We Have the wrong idea about God?
People seem to think God’s completely in control, or at least He should be, right? I mean, how many times have you heard someone say, in reference to something terrible happening, anyplace on the globe, “How could God let that happen?” So while God is indeed in charge, in Psalm 115:16 KJV, it states, The Heavens, are the Lord’s: but the Earth hath he given to the children of men.
“The children of men?” Hey, that’s us!! We are the children of men. So, it seems like the Earth has been given to us. If God is in charge of the Heavens, and we’re in charge of the Earth doesn’t that make what happens here OUR responsibility? Well then if God’s will is to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, doesn’t that make it our job to make Earth look like Heaven?
How do we go about that? First, by the Spirit, we awaken to the presence of Christ in us, and we begin to be transformed, by the renewing of our mind, changing how we think, about God, and how we see ourselves. Then we begin to realize that Heaven is not a different geographical location, it is in and through us. It is how we see ourselves and others.
…know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2 Corinthians 5:16 KJV
Do we relate to others according to how we physically see them, or do we know them only according to Spirit? Even Jesus, even ourselves, according only to Spirit. Then and only then will we begin to discover Heaven here, Heaven now.
